Marie’s Little Jar is a symbol of its creator, ‘Marie’ Carine Ottou, getting back to her roots. After years of living in Europe, working in corporate IT, and artificially straightening her hair, she decided enough was enough. The hair was cut, and she turned her attention to creating a food brand inspired by the vibrancy and flavor of her native West Africa.

For Marie, growing up in Cameroon meant being constantly surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of wonderful food. She spent weekends at markets, finding fresh local produce that was all naturally grown. Just as she rejected hair-straightening chemicals, so too does she reject anything artificial in her products.
